‘Have a Go’ at local fetes are very popular with the public in the summer months. Corporate days can be arranged by appointment.
Fun days for the club - Strongbow competition, team events, twin competition and balloon bursting competition.
DOVERDALE BOWMEN organised a corporate day for a company from Worcester, twenty six people came to the club to take part in a spot of team building. After a short instruction in safety and how to handle the bow, they were put into four teams and sent into the wood to shoot ten targets of the Big Game course that is part of the Bowmen’s ‘B’ circuit. With an instructor and a spotter to help, the teams soon got into the swing of things.
John Duggan the Manager of the club was pleasantly surprised that no arrows were lost; he was expecting to lose at least two dozen out of the six dozen that were being used.
After shooting the targets, the teams came to the Pavilion for a buffet and BBQ that was laid on by the Club.
While sat out in the sun eating and drinking, one of Doverdale’s top archers. Chris Price gave a demonstration of how a compound works by breaking balloons at 50 yards.
After all was over, the twenty six people went away with a lot more insight into field archery shooting and hopefully better from spending a day in the country.
